Charity Support for Local Communities
As an independent local business in Glasgow West End and beyond, community spirit and development is important to us here at Vanilla Square. Our commitment extends far beyond selling and letting homes for our clients. To demonstrate this dedication, not only do we sponsor and support a variety of local initiatives and community organisations, we raise and donate money to some of the most remarkable charities close to our heart.
Charity work
As a growing business, we feel that it is important to share some of our success with worthy causes by donating, organising fundraising events and charity auctions, and getting directly involved in any way we can. This year, our charities of choice are Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, Beatson Cancer Charity, and Children’s Hospice Association Scotland. This year, we celebrated 1st of May by teaming up with McLaren Packaging, The Rugby Partnership, legendary football referee and public speaker Willie Young and many more for McCrea Financial Services charity golf day in aid of Alzheimer Scotland – Glasgow and Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland at Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club. What a fantastic, sunny day spent in aid of some amazing charities.
Community sponsorship
Western Health and Racquets Club
Members of the Western Health and Racquets Club squash team are looking rather debonair of late with their new navy and white polo shirts, proudly sponsored by Vanilla Square. We are also looking forward to sponsoring the fantastic Rally for Bally charity event at the club for the second year running.
Located on Hyndland Road, the club is a great venue and social hub for West End residents of all ages. As a local business with a strong community ethos, we’re delighted to be sponsoring the squash teams at the Western Racquets Club this season, and we look forward to developing this relationship over the forthcoming years.
Glasgow Hawks
Responsible for producing some of Scotland’s top rugby stars, Glasgow Hawks is also committed to providing an effective, safe and inclusive environment children in the local community. Following a successful pilot project, the Club runs an all-inclusive Youth and Community Programme to benefit hundreds of disadvantaged children at schools across Glasgow West. We are proud to announce that Vanilla Square will once again be joining the Glasgow Hawks as an official sponsor this season.
Kilmalcolm Golf Course
Heralded as one of the top 100 courses in Scotland, Kilmalcolm Golf Club is a charming 18-hole course nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Kilmacolm in Renfrewshire. Throughout 2017, we are delighted to continue our association with the club through sponsorship of Glenmoss – a challenging 472 yard dog leg. Arriving at the elevated Tee on the 7th, you will be welcomed with our Vanilla Square branding before you take on the tricky Par 4 drive. Aim toward the left side of the fairway and choose your club wisely. This should give you a far better approach angle for your following shot and may secure you Par!
Glasgow Warriors
Glasgow Warriors is the pride of Glasgow and the only major professional sports team who represent the whole of the city and the West of Scotland. The club competes on two of the biggest stages in world club rugby – the GUINNESS PRO12, and European Rugby Champions Cup. The Warriors won the PRO12 in season 2014/15.
It is our honour to have Glasgow Warrior’s fly-half Finn Russell as our first ambassador, who has a keen interest in construction and property following his apprenticeship in stonemasonry. He’s the perfect fit for our brand and we’re looking forward to teaching him the tricks of the trade to help him build his property portfolio.
Rally for Bally
For teh second year running, we are the main sponsor of annual charity tennis event, Rally for Bally, that will take place on Saturday 3rd June 2017 (1-5 pm) at Western Health and Racquets Club on Hyndland Road, Glasgow.
The Rally for Bally event started in memory of Elena Baltacha who passed away from liver cancer at the age of 30. The event reminds us of why Elena set up her Academy with one goal – to give more children, from all backgrounds, the opportunity to learn to play tennis.
Julie Gordon from Western Health and Racquets Club said “We are delighted to be hosting the fourth Rally for Bally event at Western this year raising money for three fantastic charities. This year’s event is shaping up to be the best yet with more surprise guests and entertainment planned. We can reveal at this time that Sharon Martin will be performing live this year at our event.”
